On the way through the picturesque Little Carpathians, we reach the Záhoria region. The old royal town of Skalica is located here. After many reconstructions, it is the most beautiful historical city in western Slovakia. Here we will visit the city museum, historical churches, a museum and a monastery with Slovak specialties and wine. Among the most important monuments of the city is the Romanesque rotunda dedicated to St. George. On the hill with the rotunda are the remains of the city walls with the only preserved so-called North Gate. Slovak specialty - trdelník (protected by the European Trademark) is produced in Skalica.
