Silver collector's coin worth 10 euros Adam František Kollár - 300th anniversary of his birth

Adam František Kollár (15/04/1718 – 10/07/1783), educated, polyglot, legal historian and court councilor, was an exceptional personality of the scientific world known throughout his lifetime Europe. After his studies, his place of work in 1748 became the Court Library in Vienna, where he was a scribe, custodian, manager, and from 1774 its director in the rank of court councilor. He focused his work in the library on expanding its funds and cataloging them. He developed a four-volume systematic catalog of theological prints, completed and published an inventory of manuscript codices. Thanks to him, the Imperial-Royal Academy of Oriental Languages ​​was established in Vienna in 1778. His philosophical and legal views are part of the Teresian Enlightenment. He was a personal adviser to Queen Maria Theresa for Hungarian historical-legal, property-legal and school matters. He also participated in the drafting of the school reform.

Coin description

Obverse:

On the obverse side of the coin, a part of the library of the time is shown, complete with the name of Adam František Kollár's scientific work Analecta monvmentorvm omnis aevi Vindobonensia (Vienna collection of documents of all times). In the left part of the coin field is the national emblem of the Slovak Republic. At the upper edge of the coin, the name of the country "SLOVAKIA" is in the description. In the lower part of the coin field is the year 2018. The designation of the nominal value of the 10 EURO coin is embedded in two lines in the lower part of the library. Mark of Mint Kremnica MK and the stylized initials of the author of the coin's design, akad. sculpture. Zbyňka Fojtů ZF are among the books in the upper left part of the coin field.

Reverse side:

The reverse side of the coin features a portrait of Adam František Kollár. To the left of the portrait are the names and surname "ADAM FRANTIŠEK KOLLÁR" in the description, and to the right of the portrait are the dates of his birth and death 1718 - 1783.
